Jammin’ With Jammer

July 16, 2008

Every time I get my dog bed covers filled and finished at my local pillow fill manufacturer, this is usually the face that greets me at the loading dock.

Hiya, Jammer! Jammer, a four year old border collie, is the official mascot of LA Pillow, and he’s the smartest and sweetest border collie you’ll ever meet. Jammer’s usual routine is to come up and greet me with a swishing tail and a quick kiss, and he’ll then trot back to the main office and plop down to watch what everybody else is doing.

Owner Sean used to play competitive soccer, and it looks like Jammer is also a soccer fan! Here he is posing with a mini soccer ball. Jammer is adored by all the employees at LA Pillow, and during company breaks or lunches, I often see the company’s employees engage in an impromptu soccer game with Jammer whereby they’ll kick the ball around the warehouse and he’ll gleefully retrieve it.

This soccer ball gets a lot of play!

According to Sean, Jammer’s favorite food in the world is cheese of any kind (aaah, the dog has great taste in food!). And when he’s not hanging out at the warehouse and working the crowd, Jammer enjoys watching the San Diego Chargers play on TV (he is, after all, named after cornerback Quentin Jammer) and going to the dog park. Oops, did I say that out loud? When you’re around Jammer, you’ll have to spell out “D-O-G P-A-R-K” because he gets super excited when he hears those two magic words. I bet he’s super popular with all the dogs at the d-o-g p-a-r-k!

Work the catwalk, Jammer! (aka the cutting table)

After Jammer joined the family, the Turner family got so smitten with border collies that they added a couple more. Jammer’s doggy siblings at home are Bogey, a three year old chocolate colored border collie (he’s the goofball of the family), and baby Bentley, who is less than a year old. I’ll have to take a picture of all three dogs together in the near future!
